Co-Founder ANZCAL

Hello and welcome. I’m Christine Walter, the founder of the Australia and New Zealand Coaching Alliance (ANZCAL).

If you’re reading this, chances are you’re already part of our coaching community—or considering joining—and for that, I thank you. You are exactly the kind of person this Alliance was created for.

When I first began my coaching journey many years ago, it was through a well-known not-for-profit organisation. Over the course of two decades with them, I discovered something life-changing: not only could I coach people, but I absolutely loved doing it. Coaching became more than a profession—it became my purpose. Helping others to uncover their unique strengths, passions, and inner resources has always been at the heart of my work.

I’ve always resonated with the interplay between Chaos Theory and the ripple effect. While seemingly opposite, both speak to the powerful, often unpredictable ways that change can unfold. Coaching, in many ways, lives in that space. A single conversation, a moment of insight—it can spark a ripple that transforms lives far beyond what we ever see.

What life has taught me is that things will happen—unexpected, joyful, painful, transformative things. The true power lies not in the events themselves, but in how we respond. As Aldous Huxley once said, “Experience is not what happens to you, it’s what you do with what happens to you.” That wisdom has guided me both personally and professionally.

After many rewarding years, I recently passed the stewardship of ANZCAL to Samantha Hannah. Samantha brings her own depth of experience, warmth, and vision to this community. It brings me great joy to see the Alliance in such capable hands—continuing to grow, evolve, and make a difference.

Thank you for being part of this movement, for choosing to lead with intention, and for believing in the transformational power of coaching. The ripple continues.

Warmly,
Christine Walter
